The Bellingham Bells have added an infielder and an outfielder from Tulane University to their 2019 roster. Freshman middle infielder Collin Burns and freshman outfielder Logan Stevens will make the trek from New Orleans to the Pacific Northwest this summer.
Burns hails from Metairie, La. and has appeared in three games to begin his young career with the Green Wave.
He made his collegiate debut on February 16 against George Washington University, and has also appeared against Lamar University.
A standout at De La Salle High School, the five-foot-ten-inch Burns was a three-year letter winner who was named to the New Orleans Advocate All-Metro Team, LBCA All-Region 10 team, USA Today All-USA Louisiana first team, PBR all-state first team and LBCA all-state first team.
Burns, who graduated second in his class, came out of De La Salle as the third ranked shortstop in Louisiana according to the 2018 Prep Baseball Report.
Stevens is a Mandeville, La. native who has appeared in two games so far this season for Tulane. He made his collegiate debut on February 20 against Lamar University.
Stevens graduated as the valedictorian of his class at John Curtis Christian High School where he won back-to-back state championships for the Patriots. He hit .320 with 21 RBIs his senior year and was named first team all-district and first team all-metro for his efforts.
Stevens was rated as the No. 10 overall player in Louisiana coming out of high school per the 2018 Prep Baseball Report.
Burns, Stevens and the rest of the Bells will begin their campaign on June 4 against the Kelowna Falcons at Joe Martin Field in Bellingham.
