The Bells are excited to welcome LHP Ryan Sanders and third baseman/ shortstop Christopher Campos from St. Mary’s College of California to the 2021 roster.

“Coach Moore and St. Mary’s are great friends of the Bells, and we really respect their program,” Bells general manager Stephanie Morrell said. “We couldn’t be happier to be welcoming two of their players to the Bells this summer.”

Sanders is a sophomore but hasn’t seen much action at the collegiate level. He graduated from Quartz Hill High School in Lancaster, Calif. where he was a three-year letter athlete.

“Ryan is a talented young pitcher who hasn’t had many opportunities yet due to the early cancellation of the 2020 baseball season,” Morrell said. “Ryan had an impressive prep career and is known for his ability to strike out hitters. We are looking forward to what Ryan can bring to the Bells pitching staff this summer after gaining some valuable experience with St. Mary’s this spring.”

Sanders won the Golden League Pitcher of the Year in both his junior and senior year. He was ranked the no. 26 southpaw pitcher in the state by Perfect Game in 2019.

Campos is also a sophomore and started all 16 games for the Gaels in the 2020 season — he posted a .310 batting average and led the team in doubles with five.

“Chris is an exciting player,” Morrell said. “He can really hit and he’s very athletic. Beyond that, he’s known to be a fierce competitor who gives it everything he has every single day. Chris will add good depth and experience to our lineup and also brings a competitive spark to our clubhouse.”

Campos is versatile with experience at multiple positions. In 2020 he saw some action on the mound for 3.2 innings where he pitched two strikeouts.

Sanders and Campos will add to the Bells team chemistry and depth this summer.
