Opening Day win against the Edmonton Riverhawks

On June 2nd, opening day, the Bellingham Bells pulled away with a 2-1 win against the Edmonton Riverhawks.

It was a battle between the pitchers for the first 6 innings, that is until Yoshida had a single in the 8th inning and advanced to first. On a two out rally Valdez hits a single, and with an error from the visitors it leads Yoshida to score from third, making the score 1-0. Later in the inning Valdez scores on a single. To make the score 2-0. In the ninth inning Ryan Orr closes strong for the Bells and holds the Riverhawks to one run with thanks to the right fielder, Kyle Parkman throwing out the tying run at home, giving the Bells the season opener win.
