Strong outings from Yeager and Egger not enough in 2-1 loss

Isaac Yeager has been exceptional in all of his outings to this point, and the same was true today. Cruising through the first three innings, he finally surrendered his first run of the game, which was only the third earned run he has given up this season. Cole Williams was able to provide some help behind the plate. putting down a runner earlier in the inning, cutting down what could have potentially been a 2-run inning for the Black Bears.

Back-to-back doubles from Andrew Valdez and Riley Parker tied up the game to start the 6th inning after the starting pitcher was pulled.

In Sheldon Egger’s third inning of relief, he was unable to overcome a leadoff double that he surrendered, giving the Black Bears a 2-1 lead that would prove to be too much to overcome for the Bells.

Bellingham has lost their last three games and is looking to correct the losing skid at 6:35 p.m. on July 19. Follow along with the action here.
