Bells right-handed trio was too much for the Lefties to overcome in 5-0 shutout

The Bells wasted no time asserting their presence as Daryl Ruiz smashed an RBI single in the 1st inning, driving in Dean West and giving the team an early lead. Building on their momentum in the 2nd inning, Coleman Schmidt followed suit with an RBI single, bringing home Cole Yoshida and extending the Bells advantage.

Ryan Beitel was taking care of business as usual in tonight’s start. Collecting 7 Ks throughout 5 innings and only allowing 2 hits.

In the 6th inning, Marques Brown made his debut for the Bellingham Bells and settled in nicely, recording 2 shutout frames before turning the ball over to James Trimble to get the close.

Trimble would go into his long-closer role with more than a 2-0 lead. After a clutch RBI triple by Coleman Schmidt scoring 2 runs for the Bells. Schmidt would later score on a sacrifice by Dean West, making the score 5-0.

That score would remain intact. With Trimble recording the save and the Bells securing game 1 of the series against the Lefties. Game 2 is on July 29, at 6:35 p.m.
