Bells drop game three to AppleSox

Coleman Schmidt got the game going on the right note after he kicked off the offense with a leadoff double. Daryl Ruiz eventually scored Schmidt on an RBI single. To give the Bells a 1-0 lead.

It didn’t take long for the Wenatchee AppleSox to strike back. Looking to avoid the sweep while hunting for the No. 2 seed in the North Division. In the second inning, the AppleSox were able to get their lone run of the game off of Hunter Long to even the score at 1-1.

Long would bounce back in the third inning after quickly working a 1-2-3 inning to get the momentum back on Bellingham’s side. After a clean fourth inning, the score remained 1-1.

Sheldon Egger took over in the fifth inning and got off to a shaky start before settling down. After giving up a home run early, he went on to throw 3.1 shutout innings to keep the game close.

Trevor Moore was the pitcher in the ninth when the Bells defense allowed an unearned run to score to give the AppleSox a 3-1 advantage.

The Bells (33-17) were unable to come up with the sweep but are looking to finish the season strong against the Port Angeles Lefties (12-39) on August 4 at 6:35 p.m.
