MLB Top 75 Draft Prospect Amongst Two Stanford Additions

BELLINGHAM, WA — On Monday, March 4, 2024, the Bellingham Bells announced the addition of Stanford pitcher, Jack Svinth, and MLB Draft Prospect, Charlie Bates to their 2024 Roster.

Jack Svinth is a right handed pitcher competing in his freshman season at Stanford this spring. A 2023 graduate of Santa Margarita Catholic High School, Svinth was an All-Trinity League second team selection in 2022.

Svinth is a 6-foot-1 pitcher with a fastball that hovers near the 90s. Svinth matched the Santa Margarita Catholic school record with 13 strikeouts in a game against Mater Dei in 2022.

“We are excited that Jack will be pitching for the Bells. Jack loves to compete on the mound with good command of his fastball and breaking ball,” Bells Head Coach, Bob Ralston said.

Joining Svinth will be a future Stanford teammate of his, Charlie Bates. Bates is currently a high school senior at Palo Alto High School and will attend Stanford in the Fall. He is currently ranked 75th in the 2024 MLB Draft Prospect Rankings.

Bates is a 6-foot-1, 185-pound left handed hitting shortstop who can also play second base. His defensive ability and athleticism is what made him stand out as one of the best infielding prospects of his class.

Bates competed at the 2023 Perfect Game National Showcase and All-American Classic where he showcased his talents at Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

“Charlie is an exciting player to watch. Besides being a very athletic shortstop who loves playing defense, Charlie can really hit,” Ralston said.

The Bells Opening Day is May 31, 2024 against the Edmonton Riverhawks at Joe Martin Field. Tickets go on sale April 1st at bellstickets.com
