The Bellingham Bells defeated the Kelowna Falcons 2-1 to secure their first three-game series sweep of the season at Elks Stadium in Kelowna, British Columbia. The Bells now sit at 9-6 on the season and return to Joe Martin Field for their upcoming series against the Kamloops NorthPaws.

Kelowna was able to score first in the bottom of the third inning against the Bells starting pitcher Lathan Haywood. Haywood would go four innings and allow two hits, two walks and the lone unearned run of the game. Haywood has a 0.75 ERA in three starts for the Bells this summer.

The Bells offense came from Gabe Henderson hitting a sacrifice fly into left field. This scored the runner from third, Anthony Kodama. Kodama reached on a single to right-center field to lead off the inning and was moved over by a Trent Mallonee walk and a Danny Witters sacrifice bunt. 

Tied 1-1, the Bells bullpen consisted of Will Anderson, who threw one inning, CJ Bott, who pitched two innings, Callum Young, who pitched a scoreless eighth to set it up for Sax Matson in the ninth and tenth innings.

In the 10th inning the Bells broke the 1-1 tie with a leadoff double from Bryce Johnson. A wild throw trying to pick-off Johnson allowed the runner to move to third base. With no outs the Bells drove Johnson home when Kodama hit a sacrifice fly to center field. 

Leading 2-1, Matson pitched his second inning of relief by closing out the 10th frame scoreless and securing a Bells victory. Matson would earn his first win of the season thanks to two no-hit innings with four strikeouts to one walk. 

The Bells saw doubles from Jacob Mejia and Johnson. Mejia has continued his hot hitting on the road and now sits at an average of .345 which leads the team. The Bells totaled 9 hits in the sweep victory.

Next up for the Bellingham Bells is a home series starting Tuesday, June 18, against the Kamloops NorthPaws. The Bells will play a three game series against the NorthPaws. Earlier this season the two teams battled in Kamloops where the NorthPaws won the series 2-1 despite the Bells outscoring the NorthPaws 14-11.
