Another series win to begin 2025
The Bellingham Bells earned their sixth-straight series win with a 7-0 victory over the Edmonton Riverhawks Thursday, June 19 at RE/MAX Field. The Bells (13-5) return home tomorrow to face the Marion Berries in a three-game weekend series.
Pitching shined in the second shutout of the season. Mile Chandler got the start and was granted an early lead in the second inning on an RBI single from Gavin Long.
In the top of the fourth, the Bells capitalized on an error by the Riverhawks and brought in two runs on Nate Kirkpatrick’s RBI single and a fielder’s choice from Camden Gillespie.
Chandler finished four scoreless innings with only three hits allowed and one walk while striking out three. Mack Edwards made his season debut when he took over in the fifth.
Alex Fernandes delivered an RBI single that gave Bellingham a 4-0 lead. Edwards exited after three-scoreless innings where he gave up just two hits and a walk with two punch outs in his impressive debut. Dylan Huntsman was tasked with the eighth and ninth innings on the mound.
Bellingham plated a run in the eighth on an RBI double by Bobby Pierce Jr. They capped off another quality offensive performance with two runs in the ninth after Long and Aiden Aguayo both picked up one-run singles.
Hunstman finished the shutout with only three hits allowed while striking out four Riverhawks. The Bells had 12 hits as a team and are yet to lose a series in the 2025 season.
Long led Bellingham at the plate (3-for-4) with a double and two runs and RBIs. Kirkpatrick also had three hits, the second three-hit game by him in the Edmonton series.
Tomorrow the Bells will begin a cross-divisional series against the Marion Berries. Trevor Moore is Bellingham’s probable starter with Jordan Lennartson likely to go for Salem.
