Bellingham Bells Announce Departure of Head Coach Ed Knaggs

Bellingham, WA – December 2, 2025 – The Bellingham Bells announced today Head Coach Ed Knaggs will be departing the team to accept an assistant coaching position with the Gonzaga University baseball program.

Since joining the Bells prior to the 2025 season, Coach Knaggs has been an integral part of the team’s development and success, fostering both athletic excellence and personal growth among players. His leadership and dedication have left a lasting impact on the organization and the Bellingham baseball community.

“We are incredibly grateful for Ed’s contributions to the Bells,” said Stephanie Morrell, Bells General Manager/President. “He is a special person and a dedicated teacher who has been a guiding force for our players and staff, and we wish him nothing but success as he takes the next step in his coaching career at Gonzaga.”

During Knaggs’ time with the Bells, he led the team to a West Coast League North Divison Championship and their second franchise WCL Championship. He was named the West Coast League’s 2025 Coach of the Year. 

The Bells will begin a search for a new head coach immediately.

Bells win North Division to advance to WCL Championship

The Bellingham Bells are moving on in the West Coast League Playoffs after a 5-2 win over the Edmonton Riverhawks in the North Division Championship Game Tuesday, Aug 12 at RE/MAX Field in Edmonton, Alberta. The Bells will now face the Portland Pickles in the WCL title game Thursday to try and win Bellingham's first championship since 2014.
