Duo from UW to Join the Bells Ahead of the 2021 Season
The Bells are excited to welcome University of Washington senior RHP Logan Gerling and freshman outfielder Emilio Corona to the 2021 roster.
Gerling’s hometown is Gig Harbor, Wash., and he is in his senior year as a Husky after transferring from Tacoma Community College.
"Logan is the type of fierce competitor that takes the ball and sets the tone for the team that day. He possesses excellent mound presence,” Bells head coach Adam Geaslen said. “He has the ability to command each of his pitches in any count. We are excited to have Logan represent the Dawgs on our roster next summer and we look for him to make a significant impact both on the field and in the clubhouse."
In two seasons at Tacoma Community College, Gerling ended with a 15-1 record which included a perfect 11-0 record in 2019 where he notched a 1.49 earned run average and 78 strikeouts.
Gerling started four games in the 2020 season for UW. He will be joined by Emilio Corona in the spring of 2021 barring a season cancellation.
Corona graduated from San Luis Obispo High School on the central coast of California in spring 2020 and was ranked the No. 16 outfielder in the state of California by Perfect Game.
"Plain and simple Emilio is a special athlete,” Geaslen said. “He was a 3-sport star in high school that loved to shine in the big moments. Emilio is an outfielder with game changing speed, a strong accurate arm and has the ability to impact games offensively. He is a high character individual with great leadership skills, and I look for Emilio to have an immediate impact in our line up."
