Bells out hit the HarbourCats but come up short
The Bellingham Bells play another series against the Victoria HarbourCats, and start their away series with a loss 6-4 despite out hitting the HarbourCats. The Bells and the HarbourCats are two of the top teams in the league along with the Wenatchee AppleSox. The Bells are the top seed in the North division of the WCL with a record of 17-5 and the HarbourCats are third in the division going 17-8.
Ryan Beitel got the start for the Bells tonight, going into the night with three wins under his belt, making him a promising starter. Beitel pitched on June 23rd against the HarbourCats and was able to keep the HarbourCats to one run. Tonight he pitched 4.1 innings and had six strikeouts, one walk, and allowed three earned runs. Trevor Moore came in as relief and threw one inning, with two walks, and three earned runs. The closer of the evening was Will Franklin who threw 2 innings and had two strikeouts, one walk, and allowed four hits.
Fortunately for the Bells, their offense kept them in the game. Coleman Schmidt had a perfect plate appearance tonight, going four-for-four with a double and three singles and managed to put himself on the board once. The one other double for the night came from Brady Reynolds and he scored Coleman Schmidt. Andrew Valdez contributed to the four runs as well, having a home run that scored three RBI’s.
The Bells look to bounce back and take game two against the HarbourCats at 1:05 P.M.
It’s Game Time!
