Bells go 0-3 on the Weekend against the Raptors
Despite going into extra innings on teo of their last three games, the Bells return back to Bellingham after a long weekend away at the Ridgefield Raptors taking three losses.
Andrew Valdez and Daryl Ruiz both had two hits for the Bells, collectively getting over half the hits for the night. Valdez had a single and a double, while Ruiz had two singles. Unfortunately the Bells had 10 strikeouts and only took four free bases. The Bells offense had a hard time seeing the ball getting only seven hits in 39 at bats.
Defensively the Bells worked hard to make outs, but in the end had three errors. The pitching staff had nine strikeouts, 10 walks, and allowed four runs, however they were all earned. The Raptors were able to put up 12 hits against the Bells pitching staff. Everett Swaim started and threw four innings, allowing four hits, one run, four walks and sevens strikeouts. After Swaim’s exit John Pfeffer, Gianluca Shinn, and James Trimble came in to relieve. All together throwing 5.3 innings, giving up six hits, three runs, six walks, and had two strikeouts. This pitching gave Sheldon Egger a difficult task of keeping the Raptors off the basepath in the ninth and tenth inning.
The Bells return back to Joe Martin Field Tuesday for a 6:35 P.M. start time for another series against the Ridgefield Raptops. Join us Tuesday for a player poster giveaway sponsored by Scholtens Equipment. Go Bells!
