Bells get back on track before road trip to Canada

The scoring got started in the 2nd inning for the Bells when Daryl Ruiz led off the inning by reaching on an error. Nate Kirkpatrick would single later that same inning to bring in the Bells first run and give them a 1-0 lead; however, the Black Bears would respond the same exact way. The first batter of the inning reached on an error and later scored in a similar fashion.

The Black Bears got to Will Armbruester in the 4th inning, gaining a 2-run lead after three of the first four batters reached with a base hit. He would avoid the big inning, however, leaving the bases loaded to keep the Bells in the game.

A chaotic 6th inning allowed the Bells to score four runs, which would ultimately be too much for the Black Bears to overcome. Ty Saunders, Cole Yoshida, and Dean West tallied RBIs in an inning in which the Bells batted around. The Black Bears scored a run the following inning to cut their deficit to 1, but they would fail to provide any offense the rest of the game.

Will Franklin continues his highly competitive season, retiring the only five batters he faced to get the long save. He leads the Bells in ERA (0.48) among pitchers with more than 10.0 IP.

The Bells (24-15) will be getting an off day tomorrow before heading to British Columbia to take on the Kamloops NorthPaws (9-29).
