Texas A&M–Corpus Christi Sends Two Pitchers for 2024
BELLINGHAM, WA — Thursday, March 14, the Bellingham Bells announced that Anthony Sendejas and Josh Flaugher from Texas A&M–Corpus Christi will join the 2024 roster.
Anthony Sendejas is a junior left-handed pitcher who went to Bothell High School and Edmonds College before transferring to Texas A&M–Corpus Christi.
Sendejas last season pitched a 2.90 ERA for Edmonds and was second on the team in strikeouts with 62 in 71.1 innings pitched.
This will not be the first time Sendejas participates in a West Coast League summer season. In 2022 he played for the Wenatchee AppleSox where he pitched seven games.
“Anthony throws hard.” Bells General Manager, Stephanie Morrell said. “He had a great career at Edmonds College and has some experience in the WCL. We are looking forward to having him as part of our pitching staff this summer.”
Flaugher is a junior that, like Sendejas, spent his first two college seasons at Edmonds. He grew up in Bremerton but traveled all the way to Corpus Christi, Texas, this year to play baseball at the Division I level.
Last year at Edmonds Flaugher pitched a 2.44 ERA and had 84 strikeouts in 92.1 innings pitched. Flaugher was the ace for the Tritons in 2023 with an 11-2 record on the mound.
So far this spring Flaugher has pitched in 6 appearances and one start for the Islanders where he has 11 strikeouts.
“Josh will be a great addition to the staff this summer,” Morrell said. “He’s hard throwing and a true competitor on the mound. He’ll give us depth in the staff and be someone we can rely on to come out of the bullpen.”
Sendejas and Flaugher both spent their first two college years at Edmonds and traveled together to Texas A&M–Corpus Christi this past year. They will stick together and join their college teammate Matt Molina on the Bells this summer.
It’s Game Time!
