Bells sweep Elks on Cassie’s walk-off
The Bellingham Bells completed a three-game sweep of the Bend Elks with a 4-3 walk-off win Thursday, June 12 at Joe Martin Field. The Bells (9-3) keep their grasp on first place in the North Division and will begin a six-game road trip tomorrow with a 6:35 p.m. game at Victoria.

Chihiro Sato entered in the fourth and finished the inning scoreless. Sato, retiring the next eight batters, kept the Bells in the game.
The offense began to chip away with a run in the fifth inning on an error that allowed Alex Fernandes to touch home. In the sixth, Cayden Wotipka hit into a fielder’s choice that scored Cassie, who had reached on a base hit earlier in the inning.
Sato, the reigning WCL Pitcher of the Week, continued his dominance on the mound and finished 5 and 1/3 no-hit innings where the only baserunner he allowed was on an error. Sato lowered his season ERA to 0.63 and earned his second win of the season.
