Sluggers lead Bells to 11-1 win

The Bellingham Bells defeated the Kelwona Falcons 11-1 to begin the three-game Monday, July 28 at Joe Martin Field in Bellingham, Wash. The Bells had 14 hits, led by four from Andrew Lamb and three by Aiden Aguayo to earn the blowout win.
After Carter Herrera made his start and pitched a scoreless first inning, the Bells put up two runs on an RBI base hit from Noah Meffert and a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch to Gavin Long.
Bellingham extended their lead in the third inning when Aguayo hit a bases-loaded double to score three runs and give the Bells a 5-0 lead. Herrera surrendered the lone run of the game in the top of the fourth and finished his four-inning start with three hits and one walk allowed while striking out one.
The offense continue to pour onto the Falcons pitching with a three-run fifth inning aided by two defensive errors on Kelowna. Lathan Haywood took the ball for the next two innings, which earned him the win tonight.
In the bottom of the sixth, the Bells scored two runs when Lamb doubled to left field. Haywood finished two scoreless innings only allowing one hit and striking out two.
Josh Flaugher pitched the next two innings and only allowed one hit with two strikeouts. Aguayo collected his fourth RBI with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the eighth.
Will Franklin finished the game with a 1-2-3 ninth inning on the mound and collected one out via a strikeout. The win sent Bellingham to a 29-17 record, which is still good for first in the North Division.
Aguayo was 3-for-4 tonight and drew two walks while driving in four runs and scoring three. Lamb was also on base five times with a four-hit night that included three RBIs and a run. Noah Meffert went 2-for-5 and stole two bases while driving in a run and scoring one.
Gavin Long collected two hits with a double as did Logan Degroot and Noah Cassie was 1-for-3 with an RBI, steal and run scored. The Bells offense stayed hot and only struck out twice at the plate in an offensive clinic tonight.
The Bells and Falcons play again tomorrow, Tuesday July 29 at 6:35 p.m. and the Bells will look to hold first place in the North Division heading into the last week and a half of the season.
