The Bellingham Bells capped off their trip to Wenatchee with a 10-5 win over the AppleSox Sunday, August 3 at Paul Thomas Field in Wenatchee, Wash. The Bells slugged 10 runs in on 14 hits with everyone contributing to the series-winning final.

Carter Herrera began the game for the Bells on the mound and tossed the first two innings scoreless before his teammates gave him the first lead of the game in the top of the third. Brock Sell hit a one-out double and was scored by Aiden Aguayo’s RBI single. Aguayo scored when Noah Cassie picked up his first hit of the game.

Wenatchee scored on in the bottom of the fourth, but Bellingham went ahead by two again on a Cassie RBI. Herrera finished five innings with one run allowed on four hits and one walk while striking out two.

Jared Hardie would only gain the first two outs of the sixth before being pulled from his relief appearance after allowing two runs on four hits and a walk. Chihiro Sato was able to gain the final out, but the game was tied 3-3 after a scoreless seventh inning by both teams.

Bellingham slugged their way to a seven-run eighth inning on six hits and two walks drawn in the inning. Rominic Quiban had a go-ahead RBI to get the scoring started and Blake Balsz hit a bases-loaded double that capped off the final three runs of the inning.

Caleb Cassie was tasked with collecting the final six outs of the game and went on to do so while allowing two runs on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts. Sato earned the win with his 1.1 innings of relief, it was his third win of the season and he is now 3-0 in 14 appearances.

Tonight’s double digit run total featured many contributing Bells that had big nights. In the leadoff spot Aiden Aguayo was 2-for-5 with three RBIs and one run scored. Noah Cassie went 3-for-5 and had two RBIs and a run scored. Brock Sell was 3-for-5 with two doubles in the nine hole and scored two runs with one RBI. Blake Balsz had his three RBIs on his one hit being the double in the eighth. Gavin Long extended his hitting streak with another multi-hit game while stealing a base.

The Bells are hot heading into the final home stand of the 2025 season. Bellingham is 31-20 and sit 1.5 games behind the Edmonton Riverhawks for the top spot in the North Division.
