Bells 2026 season ends in North Title Game
WENATCHEE — The Bellingham Bells lost the West Coast League North Division Championship Game to the Wenatchee AppleSox on Wednesday, Aug. 12 at Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium in Wenatchee. The Bells fell 18-4 to end their 2026 season.
Bellingham grabbed the game’s first lead in the second inning on a sacrifice fly from Tyler Peshke. The Bells hit into their second of three double plays on the night to end the second inning up 1-0. Wenatchee snatched the lead back with a four-run bottom of the inning.
The Bells starter Geoffrey McArthur allowed four runs in two innings with three hits and one walk allowed. Ben McKinnon pitched the next two innings in relief and allowed four runs in the third inning. Wenatchee led 8-1 after McKinnon finished two frames allowing three hits and two walks.
Noah Cassie helped get Bellingham moving back in the right direction as he drove in Bo Shinkle on an RBI double in the fifth. Matt Churchill scored Cassie on an RBI single and Wenatchee’s lead was 8-3.
Kaden Nicholls pitched a scoreless fifth inning in relief, but couldn’t get out of the sixth inning and exited midway after allowing three runs. Jameson Connolly pitched in relief but only recorded one out and Adam Jay had to finish the sixth inning.
The AppleSox scored nine runs in the sixth and led 17-3. Wenatchee added another run in the seventh off Connor Moffitt but he threw a scoreless eighth. Nate Johnson grounded out to score Austin Basch in the ninth and the final score was 18-4.
Bellingham’s season ended after recording the second-most wins in team history during the regular season with 36. The AppleSox advanced to face the Corvallis Nights in Wenatchee on Thursday night.
Churchill and Cassie both went 2-for-3 with one run and RBI each. Rashad Hayes had two hits and drew a walk as the leadoff batter. Bellingham had 13 hits as a team but left 10 batters on base. The pitching staff allowed 15 hits and nine walks.
The Bells set their sights on the 2027 season. Thank you fans for another historic year at Joe Martin Field.
