Another week of baseball means another week that our alumni and current Bells are putting on a show throughout all levels of collegiate and professional baseball. Let's get you wrapped up on all the action from this week.

11 former Bells clash in UW vs UCLA showdown

#11 UCLA hosted the UW Huskies as 11 former Bells matched up this past weekend for three games at Jackie Robinson Stadium. The Huskies upset the Bruins on Friday's series opener with a 5-2 win. Isaac Yeager, a 2023 Bell, closed the door against Roman Martin, a 2024 Bell, as the two battled for the final out last week. Yeager got his fourth save of the year. In the final game of the series, UCLA won 13-9 with some help from a Roman Martin two-run home run.

Caleb Cassie wins ECC Co-Pitcher of the Week

The 2023 and 2024 alum pitched up the East Coast Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week award pitching six shutout innings against Molloy, allowing two hits and striking out three batters. Cassie faced the minimum number of batters in four innings and did not allow a runner into scoring position in his outing.

FloCollege Baseball highlights Daryl Ruiz

FloCollege baseball, which is a college baseball broadcasting company, highlighted our 2023 Bellingham Bell Daryl Ruiz and named him as someone to keep an eye on for the upcoming 2025 MLB Amateur Draft. The power-hitting lefty first baseman showed his pop in Bellingham as well as for Cal St. San Bernardino, where he is the all-time home runs leader.

Ryan Beitel plays final UBC home game and wins CCC Pitcher of the Week

The four-time Bellingham Bell (2021-2024) closed out his home career with the University of British Columbia this past week. Beitel has spent his entire career with the Thunderbirds and went out with an eight-inning gem in a 7-1 win over Bushnell. Beitel struck out 10 to no walks and only allowed two hits with a home run being the only run scoring for Bushnell. UBC has two more weeks of road games left but Beitels time at Tourmaline West Stadium has come to an end. Due to his impressive outing, Beitel was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Pitcher of the Week.

Austin Shenton leaves the yard for Tacoma

Shenton has now hit two πŸ’£s for the AAA Tacoma Rainiers. This home run came as a three-run blast as Shenton hit a laser over the right field wall.

Kody Hoese has a day!

The 2017 alum had his best single game-performance of the young MiLB season. Hoese picked up three hits for the Oklahoma City Comets, the AAA affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Hoese continues to grind as he tries to make a big league appearance for the first time in his career in the near future. We will be watching!
