The Bells are excited to welcome two players from the University of Washington to the 2022 roster. Left hander Bryce Armstrong and catcher Colin Blanchard are slated to join the Bells this summer.
“We are excited to have Bryce and Colin represent the Dawgs up in Bellingham this coming season,” Bells head coach Adam Geaslen said.
Armstrong graduated in 2019 from Corning High School in his hometown of Corning, Calif. He spent his freshman season at Butte Community College in 2021 and went 7-0 on the mound with an ERA of 2.35 in 38.1 innings.
“Bryce is an outstanding left-handed talent and we look for him to do great things at the top of our rotation this summer,” Geaslen said.
Armstrong was named the 2021 Golden Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year with Butte College and plans on majoring in Kinesiology at UW.
Blanchard is a 2021 graduate from J Serra High School in his hometown of Ladera Ranch, Calif. He was a three-year starter for J Serra and a member of the National Honor Society, Dean’s List and Honor Roll with a. 4.0 GPA each semester.
“Colin’s solid catch and throw skills and his leadership intangibles will make him a great addition to the Bells roster,” Geaslen said.
Blanchard was ranked the No. 24 catcher in California in 2021 by PerfectGame.com.
These two will work in tandem together this spring at UW and bring their talents to Joe Martin Field this summer.
Bells Opening Day is May 31, 2022, against the Springfield Drifters at Joe Martin Field.
