BELLINGHAM, WA — Wednesday, April 9, the Bellingham Bells announced the additions of three new players to the 2025 roster: Callum Young, Bobby Pierce Jr. and Noah Betanco.

Callum Young is coming back to Bellingham for another summer with the Bells. The University of Portland left-handed pitcher will join the Bells for his third-consecutive summer in Bellingham.

Over two seasons in the West Coast League, Young has pitched a 1.47 ERA over 18.1 innings in a Bells uniform as a premier reliever during the 2024 season.

The 6-foot-2 lefty was a 2024 WCL All-Star and aptly joined the Division I Pilots as a sophomore this fall after transferring from Everett Community College.

Young has made four appearances for the Pilots this season as a reliever and most recently pitched a scoreless frame on April 6 against Saint Mary’s where he struck out two of the three batters he faced.

We are excited to see another returner added to the 2025 roster – especially Young who is a lefty being added to the bullpen, which is always a good thing.

Bobby Pierce Jr. is a freshman shortstop out of South Mountain Community College. Pierce Jr. is batting .376 this season through 170 at-bats and has already shown his power and speed by hitting 12 doubles, three triples and two home runs with 10 stolen bases in 45 games.

At Casteel High School, Pierce Jr. won back-to-back Arizona 5A State Championships as a junior and senior. The shortstop used his lefty swing to help push the Colts to those two successful years.

Pierce Jr. will travel to Bellingham this summer to compete in the West Coast League for the first time in his young career.

Noah Betanco is a 6-foot-1 catcher from Cal State San Bernardino. The freshman is in his first year with the Coyotes out of Eastlake High School in Chula Vista, California.

Betanco was a First Team All-CIF San Diego County selection after his senior season where he led Eastlake to a Metro-Mesa League Championship with a .440 batting average with 33 RBI and six home runs.

As a result of his prep success, Betanco got to participate in the Padres High School All-Star Game at Petco Park last summer. This summer he gets to spend his time swinging the bat at Joe Martin Field, which is no Petco Park, but is quaint in its own ways and history.

The Bells season begins May 30 in Nanaimo against the NightOwls and the Bells will play their first game at Joe Martin Field on June 3 against the Kamloops NorthPaws. Tickets are now on sale at bellstickets.com.
