June 15th’s game was an upsetting game for Bells fans and players, as the Bellingham ended their seven game win streak to the Kelowna Falcons. The Falcons had nine hits while the Bells could only put up seven. Kelowna jumped on the Bells early on in the game in the third inning, putting one run on the board making the score 1-0. The Bells tried to answer back throught the rest of the game, but ultimatly came up short.
The Falcons didn’t ease up as they were coming into this game 0-2 in the series and were looking for a win against the Bells. They continued to score in the top of the fifth inning on an RBI to the first baseman giving the Bells their second out of the inning. The Falcons continued to put balls in play and pressure on the Bells, however it didn’t faze the Bells as the kept eight of Kelowna’s runners on base and kept them from scoring.
The Bells faced some tough pitching from Kelowna as they switched it up often on the Bells using five different pitchers all with their own special techniques. Sasha Kamenjasevic, the starting pitcher for Kelowna threw 4.1 innings striking out seven of the Bells batters and giving only one free base to the Bells. Andrew Valdez continues to stay tough on the offensive side having 2 hits on the night within four at bats and being the only scored run as well.
The Bells look to bounce back from this loss this Saturday, June 17th against the NW Star Nighthawks at 6:35 P.M. at Joe Martin Field.
