Battery from Stanford join the Bells

The Bells are excited to welcome catcher Malcolm Moore and pitcher Brandt Prancer from Stanford University to the 2022 roster.

“We are looking forward to having Brandt and Malcolm represent Stanford in Bellingham this summer,” Bells head coach Adam Geaslen said.

Moore is graduating from C. K. McClatchy High School in Sacramento, Calif., this spring where he won the 2020-2021 Gatorade California Baseball Player of the Year which recognizes athletic and academic excellence as well as exemplary character.

“Malcolm is a talented hitter from the left side with plenty of pop in the bat,” Geaslen said. “He’s a solid receiver at the catching position and we look for Malcolm to make a significant impact to the club.”

Moore also participated in the 2021 Perfect Game All-American Classic.

Prancer is a sophomore at Stanford and has made seven appearances this season with a 3.00 ERA. He made the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll in 2021 and tossed 42.1 innings that season.

“Brandt is a strike thrower,” Geaslen said. “We expect him to come out of the pen and produce swing and miss with his ability to command all of his pitches in any count.”

Prancer graduated in 2020 from North Gwinett High School in Suwanee, Georgia where he was the team captain his senior year and the Gwinett County Pitcher of the Year in 2019.

The Bells Opening Day is May 31, 2022, against the Springfield Drifters at Joe Martin Field.
