The Bellingham Bells opened their three-game series against the Kamloops NorthPaws with a 10-5 win Friday, June 27 at Norbrock Stadium in Kamloops, British Columbia. 12 hits helped Bellingham to their 16th win of the season and the Bells stay atop the North Division with a 1/2 game lead over the Wenatchee AppleSox.

The Bells took advantage of four walks and five hits in the top of the second inning to score five runs against Kamloops starter Lucas Dykstra. Bobby Pierce Jr. got the scoring started with an RBI single and Blake Balsz helped score two runs with a base knock.

The offense did not cool off as the Bells hottest hitter Rob Jacobsen brought in two runs on a double to right field. Balsz picked up another RBI to cap off a three-run third inning and led 8-0.

After three scoreless innings, the Bells starting pitcher Trevor Moore allowed a home run in the fourth and a run in the fifth to exit his start after 4.2 innings pitched with three hits and five walks allowed while striking out four batters.

Dylan Huntsman finished the fifth inning and pitched a scoreless sixth with two strikeouts and two walks allowed. Jared Hardie began the bottom of the seventh inning on the mound but would be relieved by Tyler Biddinger after allowing two runs on three hits and an error on himself.

Biddinger allowed one run in the eighth and had Bellingham leading Kamloops 8-5 heading into the final frame. The offense bolstered their lead with a two-run ninth on RBIs from Nate Kirkpatrick and Pierce Jr.

Up 10-5, Biddinger finished a 1-2-3 ninth. Huntsman earned his first win of the season by finishing the fifth inning out of the bullpen.

Jacobsen led Bellingham with a 2-for-4 performance that included three RBIs as the left-hander hit his third double of the summer and continued his 10-game hitting streak. Balsz was 1-for-4 at the plate with a walk and drove in three runs. Pierce Jr. went 2-for-4 with two runs and RBIs as the infielder now has six hits in his last four games.
