Mack Edwards and Will Franklin combined for a six up, six down sixth and seventh innings. Franklin surrendered the second run of the game in the eighth, but finished two innings allowing two hits and kept Bellingham up by one heading into the ninth.
Tyler Biddinger entered for the save and earned his second save of the season with a 1-2-3 ninth capped off by a strikeout to move the Bells to 32-21. Along with Degroot, Bellingham had a perfect day from Rominic Quiban, who went 1-for-1 with three walks and a steal. Blake Balsz collected two hits with a double, walk and run scored.
With Victoria beating Edmonton tonight, the Bells can still claim first place in the North Division if they win tomorrow and the Riverhawks lose, which would create a three-way tie for first and the Bells hold tiebreakers over Victoria and Edmonton.
