Four new pitchers joining Bells staff this summer
BELLINGHAM, WA — Friday, March 12, the Bellingham Bells announced the additions of four pitchers to the 2026 roster. Brady Estes (Cal Poly), Aiden Colin (Cal State San Bernardino), Kole Laubach (UC Santa Barbara) and JJ Martinson (Edmonds) are all joining this summer’s pitching staff.
Brady Estes is a left-handed pitcher from Cal Poly. He’s currently in his freshman year after graduating from Whitney High School. Estes earned the No. 7 ranking in California for left-handed pitchers in his 2025 class according to Perfect Game.
Estes has already started his collegiate career on fire. On March 3, he tossed four innings against Pepperdine and struck out 10 batters. His ERA sits at 2.16 through his first four appearances as a Mustang.
His early success doesn’t come as a surprise for those who followed him at Whitney because in his prep career he tossed a 1.89 ERA and collected 151 strikeouts in three varsity seasons. He’ll look to build on his first year at Cal Poly when he heads to Bellingham this summer.
Aiden Colin is headed to Bellingham this summer from Cal State San Bernardino, which is a popular pipeline for the Coyotes and Bells. Colin is a right-handed pitcher in his junior season with the Coyotes.
Colin has been a journeyman throughout his collegiate career. His first stop after graduating from Pacifica High School was at NCAA Division I Cal State Northridge. After appearing in three games, he transferred to Santa Ana College, a JUCO school. He appeared in 18 games for the Dons and struck out 38 batters in 35 innings.
Now with Cal State San Bernardino, Colin is looking to close the final years of his career strong. He was a Port Angeles Leftie last season, but he’ll look to follow in the footsteps of prior Coyotes Devyn Hernandez and Carter Herrera, who helped the Bells win the WCL title last season.
Kole Laubach is a freshman right-handed pitcher from UC Santa Barbara. He’s yet to make an appearance for the Gauchos, but after his successful prep career at Valley Christian High School, it’s only a matter of time until he shines collegiately.
Laubach tossed the first perfect game in Valley Christian school history on May 3, 2024 as a junior and went on to be named West Catholic Athletic League Pitcher of the Year. He finished that season with a 0.97 ERA to go along with a 1.42 as a sophomore and 1.44 as a senior.
He was the No. 84 right-handed pitcher in the 2025 class from California according to perfect game. He’s part of an athletic family too, as brother Reese plays hockey at Penn State and was drafted by the San Jose Sharks. Kole looks to vault his career in the right direction with a stop in Bellingham this summer.
Joshua “JJ” Martinson is a right-handed pitcher from Edmonds College in his freshman season for the Tritons and is already looking like a promising addition to the Bells pitching staff this summer. Martinson has made four appearances for Edmonds and is pitching a 1.86 ERA.
His best outing of the season came against Tacoma Community College on March 7 where Martinson tossed a complete game shutout with 10 strikeouts, one walk and three hits allowed. The Central Kitsap High School alum is making a name for himself in the Pacific Northwest.
He’ll join the Bells after making two appearances for the Yakima Valley Pippins last season. He earned a win against Ridgefield in 1.2 innings of an extra-innings game on August 6. Martinson’s 24 strikeouts and 0.98 WHIP in 19.1 innings for the Tritons this spring should get fans excited for his Bells debut this summer.
The Bells open the 2026 season on the road March 29 at Kelowna but host Wenatchee for the home opener on June 2 at 6:35 p.m.
It’s Game Time!
