Falcons sporadic offense outpaces Bells in 6-4 loss

It took two innings of the bats coming alive for the Falcons to beat a Bells team that struggled to get going despite Yohann Dessureault’s 2-for-5, 2 RBIs effort.

The Bells (10-3) remain in first place after dropping two straight games to the Falcons, who improve to 9-7 on the year.

Several opportunities were there for the Bells throughout the night, but they were unable to capitalize or break out a big inning like the Falcons. In the 2nd inning, Kelowna was able to string together three hits to give them a 3-1 lead heading into the 3rd inning.

Max Hartman would later take advantage of a passed ball to cut the deficit to one, but after Cole Williams singled on a line drive to left, the game-tying run was cut down at the plate, ending the inning.

Daniel Paret returned for the top of the 3rd and struck out the side. He would leave the game striking out eight of the nine batters he retired. Everett Swaim would take over in the 4th and go on to pitch 3 scoreless frames to keep the Bells in the game.

In the top of the 7th Dessureault tied the game with his second RBI of the game. But the Bells bullpen was unable to contain the Falcons second offensive outbreak in the bottom of the 7th, scoring 3 runs on 4 hits.

The Bells would later get a run back on an overthrow by the Falcons 3rd baseman but were unable to make the comeback. They will get a chance to get one back from the Falcons on June 21 at 6:35 p.m. at Elks Stadium.
