Bells welcome three Stetson additions for 2026

BELLINGHAM, WA — Friday, February 13, the Bellingham Bells announced that three Stetson University Hatters are joining the 2026 roster. Pitcher Thrasher Steed,

Thrasher Steed is a six-foot-three right-handed pitcher from Orange Beach, Ala. He’s in his redshirt junior year at Stetson after redshirting the 2025 season. Steed transferred to Stetson last year from Chipola College.

In 2024, Steed was part of a Chipola team that was the runner ups at the FCSAA DI Baseball Championship. In 2023 Steed pitched 17 innings for Chipola as a relief pitcher.

This summer he returns to the West Coast League after playing for Kelowna in 2023. With the Falcons he pitched 21.2 innings with a 3-2 record and 3.74 in 18 games as a reliever. He most recently played summer ball in the New England Collegiate Baseball League with the Mystic Schooners in 2025.

The Gulf Shores High School alum will join the Bellingham Bells pitching staff this summer.

Junior infielder Nelphie Lopez is joining the Bells 2026 roster out of Stetson after hitting .247 his sophomore season with the Hatters. Lopez played in 46 games with 38 starts and on 36 hits drove in 22 RBIs.

The last two summers Lopez has played in the New England Collegiate Baseball League, which is a summer baseball league similar to the WCL. In 2025 he joined the North Adams SteepleCats for 31 games and hit .341 in 109 plate appearances.

In 2024, he played for the Danbury Westerners for 27 games and in 2023 he played for the Boynton Beach Buccaneers of the South Florida Collegiate League. Lopez will travel to the west coast this summer, far from his high school alma mater of Fordham Preparatory where he was the #12 shortstop in New York for the 2023 class.

Our final Hatter headed to Bellingham this summer is outfielder Corey Robinson. Robinson is entering his first year at Stetson after playing two seasons at the University of Central Florida – better known as UCF.

Robinson began his career at the University of Florida for 21 games before spending the last two years with UCF. Last season he played just four games, but in 2023 he played 48 games for the Knights.

He has prior summer league experience teaming with Nelphie Lopez on the North Adams SteepleCats last summer in the New England Collegiate Baseball League. There he played 22 games and hit .224. He also has experience in the Florida Collegiate Summer League and Valley League, so we look forward to how he shines in the WCL.

The Bells open the 2026 season on the road March 29 at Kelowna but host Wenatchee for the home opener on June 2 at 6:35 p.m.
